Prevention is at the heart of everything we do

Our work in Schools

At WHYSUP, we believe that educating young people on mental health & wellbeing can change the course of a young person’s life and build resilience from a young age.

That’s why we work directly with schools across the UK, delivering award-winning, lived-experience sessions that help students to understand themselves, their choices and better prepare them for the challenges they may face.

Our Approach

Our approach combines lived experience, practical guidance, and open discussion, creating a safe place where young people feel heard, informed and supported.

We’ve partnered with mainstream schools, alternative provisions/PRU’s, colleges and universities. We work with students, staff and parents, offering a range of interactive presentations, workshops and mentoring programmes to support PHSE guidelines.

sessions covering a wide range of topics:

Mental Health & Wellbeing

WHYSUP supports young people to build a clear, age-appropriate understanding of mental health and emotional wellbeing. Our sessions encourage open conversation, reduce stigma and help students recognise when they or others may need support. For educators, this provides a safe framework for discussing mental health while reinforcing positive help-seeking behaviours.

We help students understand what stress is, how it can affect them and how to respond in healthy ways. Through practical strategies and real-life examples, WHYSUP supports young people to build resilience, manage pressure and develop coping skills they can use both in education and beyond.
Our anxiety sessions help students recognise common signs of anxiety and understand that they are not alone in their experiences. We introduce simple, practical tools for managing anxious thoughts and emotions, while clearly signposting when and how to seek further support.

Including gambling, ketamine, gaming, vaping and social media.

WHYSUP delivers balanced, non-judgemental education around habits, risk-taking and addictive behaviours. We explore why young people may turn to certain behaviours, the potential risks involved and how to make safer, more informed choices. Our approach supports safeguarding aims while creating an open environment where students feel able to ask questions and speak honestly.

We support young people to develop a healthier relationship with their bodies and challenge unrealistic expectations often reinforced by social media and peer pressure. Sessions promote self-worth, encourage positive body image and raise awareness of eating disorders in a sensitive, age-appropriate way.
These sessions focus on empathy, peer support and recognising when someone else may be struggling. WHYSUP encourages young people to look out for one another, understand the importance of speaking up and know how to seek help safely for themselves or others.
WHYSUP raises awareness of the impact of bullying, both online and offline, and promotes respectful behaviour and inclusion. Sessions empower students to recognise bullying, understand their role in preventing it and feel confident reporting concerns through appropriate channels.
We help young people understand the link between wellbeing, confidence and future planning. These sessions encourage realistic goal-setting, self-belief and healthy decision-making, supporting students as they prepare for transitions into further education, training or employment.

Why Us?

We tailor our content to suit the age and needs of each group, ensuring that every session is engaging and meaningful.

Our goal is simple: to provide young people with the knowledge, confidence and tools they need to stay safe, make informed choices and look after their mental health – now and in the future.
